Step by step

Adhesive preparation of the piece

Sand the inside of the piece using aluminum oxide of up to 50 micrometers, at approximately 3 bars of pressure, until its surface is mat.

Rinse the pieces into an ultrasonic sink, using water, for 180s.

Apply alcohol at 70% and dry the surface for 30s.

Apply silane (preferably containing MDP) and let it remain for 60s. Remove excesses with air jet.

Apply the adhesive (preferably containing MDP) for 30s, and apply a 10s air jet to volatize the solvent and even the surface thickness. Then, light-cure for 20s on the surface.

Apply the resinous dual cement into the prosthesis piece, and adjust it to the prepared tooth. Remove the excess with the piece under pressure, and light-cure for 60s on each of the faces (vestibular, tongue/palate, and occlusal) with high light intensity. Wait for 7 to 10 minutes for the chemical curing of the cement. After that, check proximal excess that may remain.

Preparation of adhesive on tooth
To receive the piece, the tooth’s adhesive shall be prepared, including acid etching of enamel and dentin, and applying the adhesive. For use with self-etching adhesive, there is no need to acid etch.

Preparation of abutments on implants
The implant’s abutment must receive adhesive containing MPD throughout its cementable area. The adhesive shall be evenly applied and light-cured for 10 seconds.

Characterization (Optional)
If the professional finds it appropriate to “characterize” the piece, he may do so using light-curing pigments or resins.

Rough the area that will receive the pigments with diamond tips for resin finishing.

Apply universal adhesive into the rough region, by light rubbing it for 10 seconds, then light-cure it.

Apply the pigment or resin into the desired area and light-cure it.

Finishing and Polishing
The finishing and polishing can be made with rubber or abrasive disks of medium or fine granularity and polishing paste.
